Who runs this

Fencing Fantasy League is a fantasy game about the FIE fencing circuit, run by Jasper Van Dyck from Belgium. Questions about your data go to jasper.vandyck@hotmail.be.

What we keep

Your e-mail address and a password hash, or the identifier your Google account gives us, to sign you in.
Your name as you typed it and the handle you chose; both are shown to other managers in leagues and rankings.
Your squad, your relay orders, your transfers and the points they score, because that is the game.
Your e-mail preferences, and the date you switched each one on or off.
Technical logs from our hosting (Vercel) and our database (Supabase), such as request times and IP addresses, kept briefly for security and debugging.

We do not collect anything from Google beyond your e-mail and name. We run no advertising, no trackers and no analytics; nothing about you is sold or shared.

Cookies

Two, both necessary, neither used to follow you anywhere:

The session cookie that keeps you signed in, set by Supabase when you sign in and cleared when you sign out.
A note in your browser that you have seen the cookie line, so it does not come back every visit. It never leaves your device.

Both are needed to run the site, so there is nothing to accept or refuse. If we ever add a cookie that is not on this list, we will ask you first.

E-mail

Three kinds, and you decide on two of them:

Account mail: the six-digit confirmation code, a password reset. Not a choice, because without it you cannot get in.
Your weekend: the recap when a weekend is scored and a reminder before the relay locks. On by default, switchable off.
News about the game: a few times a season. Off unless you ask for it, when you create the account or later.

Both switches live on the account page and every mail carries an unsubscribe link. We keep a dated line for each change, so if you ever ask what you agreed to and when, the answer is a record and not a memory.

Why we keep it

To run your account and the game, to show rankings and leagues, and to send the mail above. That is the whole list.

Where it lives

In a Supabase database in the European Union (London region for the project, under standard contractual clauses) and on Vercel for the website. Mail is sent through Resend. None of these companies may use your data for their own purposes.

How long

As long as you have an account. Delete it and your profile, squad, orders and transfers go with it within 30 days; only anonymous aggregates (how many managers picked a fencer, for instance) may remain.

Your rights and how to delete your data

You can read and change your name, your handle and your e-mail preferences on the account page. To delete your account and everything attached to it, mail jasper.vandyck@hotmail.be from the address you signed up with, or from the address behind the Google login you used, with the subject "Delete my account". We confirm the deletion by mail within 30 days. You also have the right to a copy of your data, to correct it, and to complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority.

Results and photographs

Results, seeds and entry lists are the FIE's public data about public sporting events. Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons licences, credited on the rules page.

If this page changes in a way that matters, we say so at the top and, for signed-in managers, by mail.
